Abstract

The celebrations for the day of Our Lady of Caacupé are celebrated every year between November 28th and December 15th. Between those days, on December 7, the “Festival for Peace” is held and on the 8th, the “Caravan of the Virgin”. In this context, it was launched in the City of Caacupé, Department of Cordillera, Paraguay, since the day before. December 2 until December 8, the period in which the greatest influx of devout pilgrims occurs, an activity titled “Operativo Caacupé.” It was conceived by the Board of Directors and Administrative Council of the John Paul II Higher Institute of Health Sciences, whose prominence is expressed in student performance. This historical and cultural event is used to develop an educational strategy with the student and teaching community of the Juan Pablo II Higher Institute of Health Sciences, whose purpose is the integration between culture, history, religiosity and health The objective of this text is to describe the educational activity carried out with teachers and students of the health sciences where they put into practice their knowledge of first aid, communication and public health.

The management of the activity as a symbolic and significant experience for the professions promoted interdisciplinary integration. The level of satisfaction of the participants was conceived as “Satisfied”.
